we made pie

we made 3 pies today. Luca LOVED the chocolate cream pie. I also got to use my big torch for the lemon meringue pie (I got it at home depot- the torch that is). It has been so much fun baking with Z. I will miss you so much Z!!!!!!

WE made some biscotti today. I also have a 3rd option for the cake. What do you think: dots, swirls or nuts

Jake Comes to visit

Jake is so cute. he just sat & watched us (& ate the scraps that fell on the floor). Below is 2 cake decorating options: swirl or nuts??? Z also made a very nice carrot cake- a simple & elegant decor. There is also a picture of "jake the bunny"

Another week started.. Maybe my last week in San Francisco...

Baking day started closer to 10 am today at Patricia's house. Well actually her baking started before that as I entered the house she already had 2 cakes in oven. She is sooo funny she bought these 99 cent cakes and made schmutz for us so we can practice piping... Well we made 2 10 inch and 2 8 inch cakes and frosted them and stacked them and frosted them all with schmutz... Well the funniest thing was that the 8 inch cakes were thicker than the 10 inch ones so when we stacked the cakes it looked really funny... Other than that there was this song on her I-pod. My God I thought soldiers were taking the city over... it was like a military march... I had one of my laughing crisis... Patricia i am going to miss this baking with you... We had an advice on royal icing from our dearest Megan who just came back from New York... And I am wondering how Sylvia and Haley are doing in Cannes... And we are hoping all that Ifat is resting!!!!!!!!! (well as much as we know Ifat never rests!!!) :))
